Scotland Secure Second Spot
Scotland secured a well deserved runners-up spot by way of Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen triumphing in the Cup Winner’s Cup over European giants, Real Madrid. Aberdeen’s entire squad was made up purely of Scots with Eric Black (8 pts) and John Hewitt (8 pts) finishing top of the pile for Scotland.
An honourable mention goes to Massimo Bonini (8 pts) who secured San Marino a spot on the leader board.
Interestingly, despite English football’s dominance in recent years, there were no English players present in any of the European finals this year.
